This video shows a robot
writing a software program using object-oriented
programming (OOP). Assignment 4 requires the robot to
take the temperature conversion program from
assignment 3 and change the codes so that functions
could be represented by classes and methods. This
video is silent because I wanted the viewers to focus
on the robot's thoughts while he is writing a
software program.
Object-oriented
programming structures data so that software
engineers can build complex programs. It organizes
groups of data into manageable parts so that software
engineers can build really complex programs.
In this video, the
robot has to use knowledge on object-oriented
programming and apply that knowledge to assignment4.
This includes, creating 2 classes (2 methods for each
class). Next, the robot has to create new class
objects and call their methods in the main body.
The robot writes
software by first brainstorming ideas on a notebook.
These notes written down will serve as reminders of
what he is trying to accomplish. In addition, these
notes contain step-by-step instructions to write the
software program. You will notice in the video, the
robot repeatedly consulting his notes to remind
himself what steps he needs to do next.
This video was
supposed to be 20 minutes longer, and I had to cut
out some parts because I wanted to keep the video
under 15 minutes.
